From the 2023/24 academic year, the programme will only be available as Object Design MA.
Whether for developing their own subject or one picked those assigned, students will receive support from their supervisors and can deepen their craft skills at the Campus workshops to become genuine masters in their own right.

What will the University of the Future, the student of the future, and the artist of the future look like? At the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME)’s 2024 Open Day on 25 October, you’ll have the chance to explore programmes such as Product Design, Animation, Design Culture, Photography, and Designer-Maker. You can also explore the inspiring spaces of one of the leading creative universities in the region, the sports facilities, the park, and the University of the Future project, and pick up essential tips on building a winning admissions portfolio.
Iris Aruwa, who graduated from the Ceramic programme at the Secondary School of Visual and Applied Arts, will continue her studies at MOME’s Designer-Maker programme from September. She is the first participant of the Tomorrow Belongs to You – For the Creative Talents of the Future scholarship programme to successfully gain admission to MOME. Previously, she applied to MOME's Animation programme without success. The scholarship programme has now enabled her to find a track where she can succeed.
Organised for the 25th year in a row, Designblok is one of the greatest design fairs in Central Europe. This year, MOME Design Institute also had a booth with works by Ceramics and Product Design students.

Noémi Ferenczy Award-winning ceramist Sándor Dobány will introduce students to the traditional techniques of China paining and his own creative practices at his master class at MOME.
Discover the latest home décor products and trends at the the S/ALON BUDAPEST home trend fair between 22 and 24 September at the Budapest Arena, featuring MOME as one of the exhibitors.
Ceramist, set designer and sculptor Sándor Kecskeméti, a member of the International Academy of Ceramics, and a key figure of his generation in the German and Hungarian art scene will hold a master course for the Ceramic Design students of the Designer-Maker programme to provide insight into his creative practice and artistic credo spanning over 50 years.
Facilities
In the Ceramic Studio, we use high-fired, mainly stoneware clay. The place is suitable for different pottery techniques (wheel throwing, coiling, hand-building...)
- the workshop has five electric pottery wheels, a sheet roller, a kneading machine, an extruder, 12 tables and shelves.
