China painting course by ceramist Sándor Dobány at MOME

Noémi Ferenczy Award-winning ceramist Sándor Dobány will introduce students to the traditional techniques of China paining and his own creative practices at his master class at MOME.

China painting is a decorative technique dating back centuries, with traditions and a technical tool kit that continue to present a unique and exciting form of expression in contemporary fine and applied arts.  Many of Dobány’s major pieces were created using this artistic handcraft technique. His course at MOME will shed light not just on traditional China painting techniques but also the personal narratives represented by his creative process.
Presented in addition to the course, and open to everyone, a public lecture will be delivered by Dobány on 17 October at 5:00 p.m. at the Home Space of the Designer Maker programme in room B_004 at the ground floor of MOME BASE.
