Students of MOME Design Institute exhibited at the Designblok in Prague

Date: 2023.10.29
Organised for the 25th year in a row, Designblok is one of the greatest design fairs in Central Europe. This year, MOME Design Institute also had a booth with works by Ceramics and Product Design students.

The Designblok international design festival took place in the Czech capital between 4 and 8 October, with a wide range of design events and exhibitions around the city from the National Gallery to smaller showrooms and galleries.
The MOME booth showcased Gerbeaud Legacy, a successful semester project of the Product Design programme implemented in a collaboration between MOME and ONYX Restaurant. Students were tasked with designing serving dishes for the Workshop exploring contemporary dessert culture and the related serving culture, as well as the legacy of the uniquely Hungarian iconic patisserie Gerbeaud. The project was previously featured at the Budapest Design Week and the Ambiente Frankfurt, and now garnered huge success at the Designblok.

In addition to the ceramics, works by four Product Design MA students were also showcased at the Design Institute booth.

It provided a golden opportunity for presenting the portfolio of the MOME Design Institute to the professional community, and for initiating collaborations between Czech and Hungarian design universities. It was also an important chance for the young Hungarian designers for several reasons, including attracting interest from manufacturers and gaining insight into real-life exhibition setting and the Czech cultural scene.

Idén is bemutatkoztak a MOME hallgatói az Ars Electronica nemzetközi Campus Exhibition keretében. A Gradual Exposure című válogatás vezérfonalát a dezinformáció, a digitális bizalom válsága, a klímaváltozás és a geopolitikai feszültségek témái adták, amelyekhez a hallgatók kísérletező, kutatásalapú és transzdiszciplináris megközelítésekkel kapcsolódtak. A munkák kész válaszok helyett inkább alternatív perspektívákat, új gondolkodási horizontokat kínáltak tükrözve az intézmény erős interdiszciplináris szellemiségét.
