The Board of Trustees of MOME unanimously appointed Csaba Kovács as Acting Rector

The Foundation for Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design unanimously appointed Csaba Kovács, Ybl and Prima Primissima Award-winning architect, as Acting Rector of MOME on 20 March 2025, in accordance with the recommendation of the University Senate. The mandate of the Acting Rector runs until the end of the academic year 2025-26.
Beyond the smooth running of academic operations, the acting rector’s main responsibilities include working closely with the CEO to build the framework for future collaboration with the Foundation and prepare the process for selecting the next rector.
Prior to the vote of the Board of Trustees, on 3 March, the Senate of MOME elected Csaba Kovács to the position of Acting Rector of the University with a 70% majority. In a confirmation vote of confidence following the vote, more than 90% of the Senate supported his nomination.

Seven first-place prizes, five third-place finishes, and two special recognitions – the 37th OTDK, the most prestigious Hungarian science and art competition for university students, was held in Eger from 23 to 25 April, with MOME students achieving unprecedented success. This is the central question explored by the Future Traditions programme, which celebrates its tenth anniversary this year and has become a defining component of the Fashion and Textile Design MA programme at Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME). In 2024, the programme took place as part of the Hungarian-Turkish Cultural Season, with MOME students collaborating for a semester with Istanbul's Marmara University. The results of this collaboration will be showcased in an exhibition at the Hungarian Cultural Centre in Istanbul.
