Professional School Open Call - Call for ideas for new training topics

In line with the Future University concept, the former MOME Open and MOME Craft courses, as well as the paid postgraduate courses, will be brought under the MOME Professional School starting in January.

Our aim is to provide high-quality professional courses worthy of MOME's reputation, targeting active and motivated adults who are committed to advancing in a creative field but cannot accommodate full-time studies in their daily schedules.

The Professional School offers professionals at MOME the opportunity to share their expertise with a broader audience, creating greater impact and added value. It provides a platform to experiment with innovative topics that hold relevance both in the market and in academic environments. This fosters synergies between academic and market-oriented training programs, facilitating the dissemination of MOME's knowledge to a wider audience while integrating external professionals into the educational process.

At the launch of the Professional School, we aim to completely renew the current training portfolio. While building on the recognition of already successful courses, we also want to enable MOME’s professional community to enrich the offerings by developing new courses.

This call is addressed to those who, individually or as part of a team, are willing to develop a new training course and conduct it at least once by the end of the 2025/2026 academic year. If a program proves successful, it can be repeated annually or even more frequently.

Applicants are required to submit a brief description of their proposed curriculum using the provided template (including title, topic description, planned format, skills to be developed, target audience, equipment needs, etc.) and upload it via the designated form by January 27, 2025.

The Professional School working group will review submissions and provide feedback to applicants by February 20, 2025. For successful applications, we will initiate a personal consultation process to assist in the detailed development of the curriculum. Once finalized, the planned course will be announced and advertised.

Dare to dream: MOME at the most personal career orientation festival

What makes MOME appealing to young people? This question was explored in depth by the MOME delegation at the 8th Konnekt Live Career Orientation Festival that included designer and lecturer Dániel Ruppert, Animation student Enikő Svarcz, Textile Design BA student András Parag, and graphic designer and MOME alumna Dóra Sirály. In a discussion with the audience aged 16 to 20, the team shared insights into their respective fields, explained the admission process, and discussed the career opportunities available to MOME graduates.

New contemporary MOME jewellery at the National Museum’s Shine! – The Era of Jewellery exhibition

On the Boundary Lines, a selection of contemporary jewellery created by current and former students of the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design is now on display in six dedicated cases in the Dome Hall of the Hungarian National Museum. These pieces form part of the newly opened Shine! – The Era of Jewellery exhibition, which spans from prehistoric times to the present day. Alongside historical artefacts, the MOME works highlight the diversity and innovation of contemporary jewellery design. The selection features themes central to MOME’s design philosophy, including nature, space, the body, memory, and imagination.
