Requirements
Project proposal, Portfolio
- Thorough understanding of the field
- Researcher/designer project proposal
- Documentation of artistic and professional achievements to date (portfolio).
Language exam
Certificate of at least one intermediate (B2 level) combined written and oral English-language exam recognised in Hungary (languages accepted: English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Russian)
Master’s degree
Certificate of a Master’s degree corresponding to the art/design education areas of Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design In justified cases, the admission committee may accept certificates of different Master’s degrees.

1st admission round

A jelentkezési folyamatot a JELENTKEZÉS-re kattintva tudja elindítani a felület megnyitását követően.
Feltöltendő dokumentumok:
- Jelentkezési felület
- nyelvvizsga bizonyítvány másolata
DLA képzési programokra: alkotói / tervezői portfólió: tervdokumentáció, műalkotások listája, bemutatása, publikáció, stb.
Az 1. fordulóra beadott dokumentumokat az Egyetem Habilitációs és Doktori Tanácsa által megválasztott legalább 3 tagú külön DLA és külön PhD felvételi bizottság megvizsgálja és pontozás alapján dönt a 2. fordulóra történő behívásról. A 2. fordulóba kerüléshez az elérhető pontszámok legalább 60%-ának megszerzése szükséges.

2nd admission round

MEGFELELT visszajelzés esetén a kért dokumentumok feltöltése a levélben kért formátumban és elnevezéssel, illetve a regisztrációs díj befizetése.
A letölthető dokumentumok legörgetve a HASZNOS DOKUMENTUMOK menüben találhatók.
- mesterfokozatú egyetemi oklevél másolata + külföldi mesterdiploma esetén elismertetési kérelem
- eredetiségi nyilatkozat hivatalos dokumentumokról (letölthető a Doktori jelentkezés oldalról 2025.02.28-tól)
- részletes szakmai önéletrajz
- kutatói tématerv (project proposal): min. 3600 - max. 10.000 leütés
- kutatói motivációs levél: max. 1800 leütés
- a választott témavezető támogató nyilatkozata (letölthető a Doktori Jelentkezés oldalról 2025.02.28-tól)

Szóbeli interjú
Second half of June - beginning of July 2025
The admission interviews are conducted. Applicants are interviewed by an admission committee of at least 3 members appointed by the University Habilitation and Doctoral Committee (UHDC). The precise date and schedule of the oral exam will be notified to the applicant by email.
4.step
July 2025
The University Habilitation and Doctoral Council makes a decision on admission and scholarship spots based on the recommendation of the admission committee.
The admission decisions will be posted by the Doctoral School on its website, and the official notifications will be sent by the university by 31 August 2025.
Scoring
Entrance examination scoring:
- give a score of 0–10 for the creative/design portfolio, publication, or reference paper submitted for the application.
- give a score of 0–10 for the research plan submitted for the application (criteria: professional standards, innovative content, structure, and relevance for the MOME Doctoral School)
- give a score of 0–10 for the oral interview (criteria: professional competence, communication skills)
Weighting
The scores are further weighted in Round 2:
- research plan – 50%
- oral interview – 50%

Funding
State-funded form
Pursuant to Act CCIV of 2011 on National Higher Education, the costs of state-funded programmes are covered by the state budget, while the costs of self-funded programmes are borne by the student.
Self-funded form (for EU students)
The tuition fee for self-funded programmes for Hungarian citizens, or students who are subject to the same treatment as Hungarian citizens pursuant to legal regulations or international agreements, including students with the right of free movement and residence, is HUF 300,000/semester.
Self-funded form (for non-EU students)
For citizens of non-EU countries, the self-funded tuition fee is HUF 700,000/semester.
