Biography

After completing her studies as a teacher of English, she obtained a degree in media studies at the ELTE Sociology and Social Policy Institute and Advanced Training Centre. In 2009, she completed specialised training in motion picture culture and media at the ELTE Faculty of Humanities, and later obtained her master’s degree in film science at the same institution. Natália obtained her pre-degree certificate in 2016 at the ELTE Film Media and Cultural Theory Doctoral Programme. She is currently working on her dissertation, entitled “The Perception of Contemporary East-Asian Films at European and North American film Festivals and Art Cinemas.” 

In 2011 she started teaching film history at the MOME Media Institute as an external lecturer, as well as presentation skills in the Animation department. Some years later, as a full-time member of the faculty, in addition to introductory courses in film history, Natália began holding courses covering a range of film theory and cultural science topics. These include contemporary film and film festivals, European modernism and interculturality in the visual arts. Since 2019, she has also taught creative photography with Gábor Máté. In addition to her work as an instructor and researcher of film history, she also works as a communications consultant and creative producer. Her translations related to film have appeared in Metropolis, and her studies and reviews have been published in the periodicals Metropolis, Studies in Eastern European Cinema Journal, Acta Universitatis Sapientiae – Film and Media Studies and the International Journal of Film and Media Arts. She is a regular presenter at international film science conferences.
