Biography
László went into university instruction following in his father’s footsteps. His father before him also used plaster as a raw material in his teaching. László is now in his 19th year as an instructor. László believes that plaster is one of the best materials for modelling, and students also enjoy using it. In industrial settings, it is used mostly as a support material. People who choose to work with plaster can expect to achieve professional prominence primarily by making decorations for buildings. László does not work in construction, but has spent a considerable amount of time over the years preparing moulds and plaster lighting fixtures. It would be hard to estimate the number of items he has produced, but making them has helped prepare him to provide the most modern, constructive and effective help possible to his students. László has realised a vision that is still only taking root on the university level today, namely that of traversable workshops. To this day, the workshop is used primarily by design students, but it has always been open to students from other programmes, many of whom choose to make use of this opportunity. In order to introduce plaster and plaster modelling to as many students as possible, a different technological course is offered each semester at the workshop. Students can enrol in this course regardless of their major. Ready, set, plaster!
