Katalin Huszár is a researcher and CMF designer at the Conscious Textile Group of the Materials Research Hub, where she develops material concepts that focus on the idea of circular design. Her research includes the application of these concepts on an industrial scale and the investigation of their viability. She holds a Master's degree in Textile Design from MOME.
Biography
Before joining the Materials Research Hub, she worked mainly abroad as a contractor CMF designer in the automotive industry for brands such as Cupra, Geely Design, Changan Mobility and Baolab. Here, her main areas of expertise included designing textures, graphics and colours for different surfaces, and matching interior materials with the shapes. CMF Design broadened her vision of the relationship between sustainability and mass production.
Her work has been recognized by the Material Connexion Library in New York, which has included many of the materials she has developed in her collection. Several materials from her former start-up company notjustuseless are also part of the permanent collection of London studios such as Material Lab, Surface Matter and Material Driven.
