Professor Emeritus of the Institute for Sociology at the Centre for Social Sciences. He has been teaching at MOME since 2000. He is involved in the Art and Design BA programme as a lecturer and offers various courses related to his area of research, such as symbolisation, social theory, social semiotics, cultural anthropology, and worldview studies. Mentoring his doctoral students and supporting their doctoral research projects is crucial to him.
Biography
After obtaining his diploma from the Faculty of Humanities at Eötvös Loránd University, he received his Candidate of the Arts degree in 1984. In 2004 he became a Doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. Together with Ágnes Kapitány, he is the author of over thirty books and more than 300 articles and studies published in English, German, and French, in addition to Hungarian. He has been active in higher education for over 40 years. He is a founding and management member of several academic societies (Hungarian Cultural Anthropological Association, Hungarian Association for Semiotic Studies).
