Eszter got her degree at the ELTE Faculty of Humanities in 1996, majoring in Art History and French. Between 1995 and 2022, she served as Chief Museologist at the Hungarian National Gallery. From 2009 to 2019, she was director of the graphics collection. She has been teaching art history on the MOME Design Culture BA programme since 2018, and has been a full time instructor at the Institute for Theoretical Studies since 2022.

Her fields of research and publication include image and graphic design history and French-Hungarian art relations. She has organised a number of exhibitions covering these fields (e.g. In ruhigem Wasser. Holz- und Linolschnitte des ungarischen Jugendstils, Reutlingen, Städtischen Kunstmuseum Spendhaus, 2006, Mihály Zichy – Gustave Doré. She worked with her students to research Hungarian design history after 1945 through exhibitions staged as part of the design curator specialisation of the Design Theory MA programme. (Hungarian design 10+1 experiments, Fészek Gallery, 2021. November, Catalog, ISBN book+gallery, 2022)
Eszter is a member of the Secretariat of the Hungarian Academy of Arts. She is the Hungarian member of the ICOM. She also serves as art history departmental secretary of the Hungarian Archaeological and Art History Association.
