MOME designers were also present at this year’s Heimtextil trade fair

MOME Pattern, a collection of works by MOME Fashion and Textile Design students was showcased at the long-standing annual Heimtextil trade fair held between 14 and 17 January in Frankfurt. The MOME booth featured students works from all five years of the programme.

The Heimtextil fair in Frankfurt takes place each year to present the latest textile trends to the scene. The focus of the four-day event is home textiles, with separate sections for upholstery, curtains, carpets, tapestries, bedclothes, etc. Brands and designers from all over the world and every segment of the industry are featured, including industrial machinery manufacturers and software development companies.

The event also offers a rich variety of activities, such as presentations, discussions and exhibitions. As it is held mostly in offline format, and taking photos is not allowed in several of the locations, visitors can discover the latest trends truly first hand, in an exclusive setting.

With their booth ‘MOME Pattern’ in the Designer Hall, the MOME team took an active part in making this happen. The fair provided an excellent opportunity for staff and students to bring themselves up-to-date about the latest developments, build connections, and present their works to a wide audience. The booth featured around 300 students works, each printed on 60 by 60 cm paper, from all five years of the textile programme.

Our University was represented at the fair by head of the Pattern Design specialisation Tünde Bényei DLA, teaching artist Viola Balázs, and MA students Hoover Laura Clara, Vera Geszti, and Veronika Németh.

MOME students once again take top honours at the Red Dot Awards

How can we make better use of public transport infrastructure? What would a truly fast and effective life-saving device look like? And how can we save agriculture in a world without bees? These are just a few of the questions addressed by our design students, and their imaginative, forward-thinking answers have earned international recognition in the Design Concept category of one of the world’s most prestigious design competitions, the Red Dot Award. Seven projects mentored through the MOME Red Dot submission programme stood out from the global competition this year, including diploma projects and semester-long university projects.

Álmokon innen, diplomán túl – Ilyen volt a MOME Diplomaosztó 2025

Az egyetem jelenéről, jövőjéről, az igazi MOME-identitásról és az álmokról is szó esett az idei diplomaosztón, amelyen nemcsak háromszázhúsz hallgató vehette át diplomáját, de új hagyományokkal is gazdagodott az egyetem legszebb ünnepe. Az eseménynek ezúttal a RaM-ArT Színház adott otthont, ahol az alapszakos és mesterszakos végzősök mellett rektori különdíjasokat, jubilálókat, valamint a Wartha-díj és az Etikus Építészeti Viselkedés Díj kitüntetettjeit is köszöntték. Ilyen volt a MOME Diplomaosztója 2025–ben!
