Design Solfege
Design Solfege is a one-semester subject for students participating in the Design Institute’s Bachelor’s programmes (Designer Maker, Product Design and Textile Design), as well as for students of the Institute for Theoretical Studies. The goal of the module is for students to obtain design skills through theoretical lectures and practical assignments. It is divided into three main blocks: Visualisation, Design, and Workshop Tour. The Visualisation block includes traditional drawing and plastic assignments with additional lectures on chromatics and digital technical drawing, as well as related practices. The Design block has individual and group assignments, carried out under the direction of supervisors, to provide an understanding of the entire design process. Finally, in the Workshop Tour block, students visit all of the Design Institute’s workshops and spend time in each, learning about the technologies they offer and meeting the workshop managers.
