Moholy-Nagy Award Ceremony 2024

Join us in celebrating the 2024 Moholy-Nagy Award recipients: this year, the honour will go to social researcher, Széchenyi Prize-winning professor emerita Ágnes Kapitány, DSc, and social researcher, writer and poet, and Széchenyi Prize-winning university tutor Gábor Kapitány, DSc.

Since 2006, the Moholy-Nagy Award is presented each November to individuals whose outstanding artistic, research, or creative work is grounded in the same values as those of the university and its namesake. The jury explained that their nomination not only acknowledges the couple’s exceptionally rich and outstanding professional achievements but also signifies a return to the institution's foundational values, honouring them in a way that resonates deeply with the MOME community.

Ágnes and Gábor Kapitány have been actively involved in Hungarian higher education for over 40 years, teaching at institutions such as the Department of Cultural Anthropology at ELTE, the doctoral schools of ELTE and the University of Pécs, and, since 2000, at MOME. Here, they played a pivotal role in establishing and modernising the Design Culture and Art and Design Management programmes, alongside the accreditation of the MOME Doctoral School’s PhD programme and continue to shape the university's academic life to this day.

The award laudation will be delivered by associate professor and head of programme Kinga German, PhD, and head of MA programme Anna Keszeg, PhD habil.

Tizenöt éves lett a MOME Múzeumi Menedzsment és kultúramenedzsment képzése, melynek alkalmából szakmai napot rendez a Campuson. A Dialógusban című egésznapos program fókuszában a kortárs kultúra alakítói és közönsége áll, a kultúraközvetítés területeit, lehetőségeit járja körbe a képzés alumnijának aktív részvételével. A valaha itt végzett szakemberek ma már olyan intézmények kiemelkedő munkatársai, kurátorai mint a NEO Kortárs Művésze Tér, a Róth Miksa Emlékház és Gyűjtemény, a Deák17 Gyermek és Iúsági Művésze Galéria, az Esztergomi Keresztény Múzeum, a The Deep Creave Collecve, a Kiégő izzók, vagy az MNB Arts & Culture.
