Graphic design students created posters to mark the 150th anniversary of Budapest based on an exclusive menu and city walks

Budapest is celebrating the 150th anniversary of its unification in 2023. On this occasion, the Graphic Design BA programme of the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design and its Illustration specialisation invited students of the German Hochschule Anhalt and the Czech UMPRUM design universities to work together on creating stunning touristic posters.

The theme of the project was ‘Metropolis’, and the goal was to get to know Budapest from various aspects. During the 5-day workshop supported by the ERASMUS BIP, participants explored our multi-faceted and vibrant capital individually and in organised walking tours, as well as its day and night life through various cultural, culinary and leisure activities, and created the posters on the MOME Campus.

Students were encouraged to discover the hidden gems of the city instead of visiting classic touristy spots, and to absorb visual inspiration for the posters.

Stimulating collaborations were put in place to help this process: the week kicked off with the Metropolis tasting menu at Onyx Workshop, followed by a city walk organised by Imagine Budapest, explaining all the components that help make the city what it is today, and give it its essence.

The completed posters will be on display for a week at Onyx Workshop’s downtown restaurant.

Tizenöt éves lett a MOME Múzeumi Menedzsment és kultúramenedzsment képzése, melynek alkalmából szakmai napot rendez a Campuson. A Dialógusban című egésznapos program fókuszában a kortárs kultúra alakítói és közönsége áll, a kultúraközvetítés területeit, lehetőségeit járja körbe a képzés alumnijának aktív részvételével. A valaha itt végzett szakemberek ma már olyan intézmények kiemelkedő munkatársai, kurátorai mint a NEO Kortárs Művésze Tér, a Róth Miksa Emlékház és Gyűjtemény, a Deák17 Gyermek és Iúsági Művésze Galéria, az Esztergomi Keresztény Múzeum, a The Deep Creave Collecve, a Kiégő izzók, vagy az MNB Arts & Culture.
