Final Examination (Design and Visual Arts Teacher MA)

The final examination of the teacher training programme has two parts: students have to submit and present both a thesis and a pedagogical portfolio. Students can choose from a wide range of topics for their thesis, which should explore theoretical and empirical questions of phenomena in teaching and learning, relying on disciplines in the realm of educational science. As a piece of pedagogical research, it also aims to motivate independent learning. The portfolio presents a summary of the experiences the student gained during the teaching practice. It allows students to reflect on the pedagogical activities they carried out in the course of the programme. During the academic year, related courses (including a thesis seminar) help students develop both parts.
