Our Photography MA programme trains open-minded and highly autonomous artists who are able to respond sensitively and progressively to the challenges of the world, supported by state-of-the-art technology and renowned teachers.
This long-standing programme covers the development and full-spectrum implementation of long-term photography projects; design and art research; the development of the Central and Eastern European vision of the genre; and the exploration of its intersections.
Thanks to their solid knowledge and skills, artists graduating from our programme can hold their own in the international photography arena. We place a strong emphasis on collaborations with professional partners, and the successful participation of our students in international and domestic competitions, fairs and festivals.

News
This year’s winner of the Elizabeth A-i-R international photography residency programme has been selected, and will be enjoying the hospitality of Erzsébetváros and MOME. Mexican photographer Alejandra Gonzales Aragon works with various mediums, chiefly video, sound, photos, and found pictures, and is also interested in performative exercises. Her main focuses include gender issues, as well as intersections of home and identity. Launched jointly by Budapest Erzsébetváros and MOME Photography in 2022, the programme this year received nearly 60 entries from 60 countries over 5 continents.
This year’s Photography graduates were not afraid to show a deeply personal side in order to contribute to a social discourse meant to reach a wider public. An exhibition featuring their works opened in Capa Center between 30 August and 26 September.
Paris is the capital of photography in November when Paris Photo, the world's largest photography event, takes place. At the same time as Paris Photo, which attracts tens of thousands of visitors from France and abroad, the Concorde Atlantique hosts Polycopies, a fair dedicated to photo books. From 8 to 12 November, the Photography Department took part in Polycopies for the first time with its own stand.
