Biography

Richard studied philosophy at Kings College London and after graduating decided to enter the world of commercial photography, as it had been an active passion of his since early childhood. He started out in car advertising as a studio assistant and then studio manager. He then branched out to assisting car photographers both in studios and on location. His commercial photographic career developed in parallel with this, mainly with below the line work, which later broadened to include above the line work as well. He also worked on tv commercials as a location manager and production manager. When he moved to Hungary with his Hungarian wife and daughter he continued his commercial photographic career, but he was also asked to run the MOME photographic department studio. He has continued to do this for over 20 years now. He was awarded an MA in photography from MOME in 1995.
